I really like a handy laminated birch stocked Savage 11-FCNS for hunting under 200 yards. The best shooting caliber for me is the 256 Win Mag because it has the best combo of power and speed to make it the most versatile for the different types of game in New Mexico.
My friend (Ambrose) said his favorite caliber is the 256 Win Mag he got at a NWTF banquet last season. My most favorite rifle is everything made by Savage.
