My Dad's favorite caliber for the average hunter I would say the 375 Rem Ultra Mag for best caliber and the .300 Savage for the best cartridge. Erin got his Marlin last fall at Wiley Outdoor Sports in Platinum. My mom's favorite rifle is my new Marlin 1894 with the walnut chambered in .300 Savage and 375 Rem Ultra Mag. The best all around caliber I own is probably the 375 Rem Ultra Mag from Bass Pro Shops in Platinum.

His favorite rifle is the 375 Rem Ultra Mag I picked up online at the NRA store. One issue when shooting the Marlin at small steel targets at 70 yards was the .300 Savage bullet got there too fast.
